Whether you have cooked a meal at a soup kitchen or helped sort clothes at a local thrift store, most people have been drawn to a volunteer event either through an organization or as a graduation requirement.

However, volunteering doesn’t have to stop once a person graduates high school.

In fact, the benefits of volunteering or joining a community service organization in college can do more than just satisfy the philanthropic urges of one’s conscience. It can also add useful content to a resume and help a person determine skill sets that would have otherwise remained unexplored.
