‘Despite doubt about the accuracy of the latest official jobs data, economists say the labour market appears to be shaking off a funk of almost two years. The biggest surge in full-time jobs since 1991 and a robust 47,300 increase in total employment last month confounded even the most optimistic forecasts and reignited hopes the economy is gathering strength thanks to record-low official interest rates.’
