Considering a career as an EMT or a Paramedic? Minority Student EMS Scholarships are now available from Huron Valley Ambulance. Scholarships are offered 3 times per year for HVA EMT training sessions and the next upcoming deadlines to apply for the scholarships are April 15th and Aug 15th.
Emergency Medical Service careers are rewarding, part of a growing job market, and achievable without a college degree. Students can train for an EMT position in 4 months and as a paramedic in an additional 14 months. Employment of EMTs and Paramedics is expected to grow by 33 percent by 2020, much faster than many other occupations. EMS careers are also great stepping stones into other medical fields: emergency dispatch, ER tech, nursing or physician assistant.
