Women finding opportunities in Scottish renewable energy sector

ClickGreen provides an interesting article showing that there is a greater proportion of women working in the renewable energy sector in Scotland than in the oil, gas or nuclear energy sectors.  It would be interesting to know if this is true in other countries.  And it would be good to know how many women are working in energy efficiency related activities in Scotland.

More women working in renewables than other energy sectors

A major survey into employment in the Scottish renewable energy sector has found more than a quarter of employees are women, which is a larger proportion than in the oil and gas or nuclear sectors.

The findings suggest 28% of the renewable energy industry’s workforce are female, compared to UK oil and gas which has 21% and nuclear with 18%.
